This morning, my daily green smoothie was hot pink. 32 oz of bright and alive energy and colors. Farm Fresh Miami is the co-op who’s delivering my local fruits and veggies every week now. Amongst other fruits and veggies I received 2 mini red dragon fruits.

Dragon Fruit is a superfood which is packed with fiber and water. Did you know that the water from the fruits when we eat them, is directly absorbed by our DNA? Also the quality of the water we drink/eat affects our DNA since it is surrounded by water walls. That’s why we need to eat organic fruit, it provides us with energy and purified water. I would also like to quote my friend and inspiration Rebecca from Verde Y Rebelde who recently posted about this fruit. “Dragon Fruit prevents heart disease and high blood pressure. It also slows down the deterioration of our cells and it’s packed with vitamins and minerals. It’s great to prevent asthma, cough, and allergies and balances our blood sugar levels.”

We are having an abundant season of juicy and sweet delicious fruit. Seek them, eat them, share them!

Dragon Fruit Smoothie

  • Servings: 64 oz
  • Time: 5 mins
  • Difficulty: Easy

Ingredients
 – 2 Dragon Fruit (Cut fruit in half and scoop out the meat with a spoon)
– Generous handful of Kale
– Handful of Mint
– 2-3 C of Frozen Blueberries and Strawberries
– 1 Kiwi (optional)
– 1 C of Coconut Water
– 3.5 C of Water

Directions
- Throw water and coconut water in blender first, then add fruit. Blend till smooth!
– Enjoy ;)
