All my mornings, weekdays or Sunday, start with a “green juice”. With a dose of chlorophyl, antioxidants, superfoods, fiber, and plant-based protein in liquid form. Why? Because when we juice we absorb 90% of the nutrients compared to just only 60% when we chew. Chewing is vital for our digestion, it’s where the digestive process starts. Juicing is eating “pre chewed” food that is easier to absorb by our body.
I wake up my stomach and my organs gently. With a juice. With fruits and vegetables that are easy to digest. All my juices contain dark leafy greens, which are the most important ingredients in all of them. Dark leafy greens balance our meals, our sugar intake and provide us with protein, fiber and enzymes. Even if my juice is purple, it has greens in it.
In any case you are unable to prepare a juice for whatever reason, start you day with a fruit salad and add Omega3s (This slows down the sugar intake.) Then, make sure to eat a lot of green veggies on your next meal.
Here’s one of my latest favorite smoothie.
Green Berry Smoothie
– 2 Handfuls of Spinach
– 3 Stalks of Celery (My stalks were small size)
– 2 Tps of Cacao (Superfood)
– 1 C of Berries
– 16oz. of Coconut Water
– Throw all ingredients in blender. Blend till smooth. Serve and drink immediately. But take your time 😉
