Turmeric Tahini Sauce with Broccolini

Turmeric Tahini Sauce01

Did you know that steaming vegetables is also considered “raw”? Raw Foods is the most nutritious way of eating. Cooking below 120′ or dehydrating food (which is equal to sun drying) it’s also a way of raw. Through theses methods we do not altered the enzymes. We eat food just like Nature intended us to do so.
I take pleasure in cooking. In fact, it’s my art. But I have to find a balance between raw and cooked foods. I try to include something green and something raw in every single meal. And at least prepare and eat 3 completely raw meals per week.

Here’s an idea. This Broccolini side dish is an awesome alternative to french fries! Yes, french fries. The ones that you can not stop eating because how good they taste? Well, same thing happens with Steamed Broccolini.
And I’m not the only one that vouches for it. Ask my daughter! (if she could talk) 10 months old and loving to chew and eat Broccoli. Watta great start!

Ingredients
Steamed Broccolini
– Spices: Sea Salt, Black Pepper, Paprika, Grounded Mustard (Don’t sweat it if you don’t have these spices. Just use your favorite combination or the ones in your pantry)
– 8-10 Broccolini
– 1 C of Water

Turmeric Tahini Sauce
– 1/2 C of Tahini
– 2 Tbsp of Balsamic Vinegar
– 2 Tbsp of Coconut Aminos (Soy Free) or Briggs Aminos (Soy Based)
– 1/2 Tsp of ground Ginger
– 2 Tsp of Turmeric
– 1 Tbsp of Agave or Maple Syrup
– 1/2 C of Water

Directions
Steamed Broccolini
– Pour water in pot or steamer machine. Add the spices.
– Place Broccolini on steam rack.
– Steam for about 10 minutes. The Broccolini will be soft and almost feel like it’s melting in your mouth. If broccolini is hard after taking a bite, steam for 5 more minutes.
– Set aside or serve.

Turmeric Tahini Sauce
– Place all ingredients in food processor and blend.
– Serve on top of your favorite vegetables. Save the rest in a mason jar and place in fridge. The dressing will thicken up with time.
