Black Bean Brownies

Tune in today at 11am ET through Unimas channel for the “Tu Dia Alegre Show” as I’ll be demonstrating how to make these brownies on TV en español! Fudge Black Bean Brownies #vegan #glutenfree02

I’ve finally come up with a moist, fudgy and chocolicious recipe for black bean brownies. These brownies are my daughter’s favorite –well, she likes anything with chocolate. But these kind of brownies come with a plus, they are high in fiber, and even have protein thanks to the secret ingredient, black beans.
Picky eaters in your house? Don’t mention the ingredients to them, simply serve the brownies and let them come back for more. You can’t taste the beans, and in this recipe, I made sure to entirely puree the beans. That way there’s no trace of the beans in the dessert for those who will think twice before eating “healthy brownies”.

It’s a powerhouse of antioxidants in a black bean brownie bite. Beans provide them and our other main ingredient does too, chocolate.

To choose your ingredients you can opt for making the black beans from scratch, making sure to soak the beans overnight before cooking them, or you can buy them in carton or cans. Watch the ingredients and get cans with beans and water listed only. For the chocolate ingredient I used raw cacao with nothing added to it, to achieve and eat a more purely form of chocolate.

I’ve given you two options below to make this brownies. If you like them extra fudgy leave out the oats and use 2 Tbsp of ground flax instead. If you want something in the middle, use recipe as listed.

Enjoy! And let me know what your family thinks of this recipe!
